We ought to remember this wonderful proclamation. ‘The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love, therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee’.
His loving-kindness was manifested in the name of Jesus Christ. His wide spread arms on the Cross of Calvary was a show of humiliation for the worldly but contrary, it was an invitation to all that would trust in His finished work to come and find rest.
God’s righteousness demands that every sin requires punishment, but His unconditional love made it possible to be atoned for, that through grace by faith in Christ Jesus salvation may be received. Jesus Christ came and made all things new through His atoning sacrifice on the cross.
Jesus Christ is the ransom. There is no other way man could be saved from sin that came through Adam other than by the Blood of Jesus Christ. Make peace with God through Jesus Christ. This in essence means living in accordance to His Word. ‘Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.’ (Romans 5:1).
Therefore come to Jesus Christ in humility and ask Him for a steadfast spirit. Forsake pride, fear, shame and guilt. ‘If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleans us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.’ (1 John 1:9-10).
PRAYER OF COMMITMENT: – Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that you are the Son of God. And that on the Cross you died for my sin and rose again from the dead. I trust you for forgiveness and for cleansing. I believe that you have received me as the child of God. And because you have received me, I receive myself as a child of God Amen!
