Joshua declared to the children of Israel, ‘Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.’ (Joshua 24:14-15).
You did not deserve God’s grace neither can you earn it. People want to earn it through religious practices. But you can only receive it! The good news is this!! Salvation is only through the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, ‘For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.’ (Luke 19:10).
Man experienced dispossession through Adams’ disobedience. But by the complete obedience of Jesus Christ, all was restored. ‘And this is the record that God hath given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.’ (1 John 5:11-12). ‘For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin: that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.’ (2 Corinthians 5:21).
To start with, you have to accept Jesus as your personal Saviour and Lord. As Saviour because He died for you and becomes your Righteousness. You cannot be in right standing with God without Him! The reasons why you need Jesus is because He first loved you. That is why He created you in the first place. His love for you is unconditional and that is why He came in the likeness of men in order to die in your place. He desires to have a relationship with you, and to give you a life full of joy and purpose.
He can cleanse you of every sin and give you a new beginning. He knows the worst about you, yet He believes the best. He holds the future. Hear what He said, ‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.’ (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
If you would like to begin a personal relationship with Jesus today, please pray this prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, I am sorry for the sins and iniquities I have committed in my life. I ask your forgiveness and cleansing. I believe that you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for me. Please come into my life and fill me with your Holy Spirit. I loose myself now from every contact with Satan and occult power. I present to you my body to be a temple of your Spirit; I yield to you my tongue as instrument of righteousness. By faith I receive it now! Amen. ———————To be continued.
